I wanted to build an older truck just for a fun play truck. I'm just running out of driveway space. You gonna put in a 5.9L or a gaser

I took the easy way out and just bought a new truck. A new money pit. I just want all that emmission stuff gone as soon as I get ownership of the truck. The rest will stay stock until I break it.

Its funny almost all the same stuff can be still used on a truck thats 7 years newer and they still have all the same weak points plus a few new ones.

I like it.... My very first truck was a 79 power wagon with a 440! I still love the old trucks.

I have a 75 truck out in the field...... about the only good thing on it is the hood. It is the old style that has the indents on either side. I always liked that type of hood.

The "bath tub" hood! I had that on my '73 with the Power Wagon emblems. Had the same grill as the one in the pic above. Like that WAY better than the later 4 headlight style.

ya i like that one as well , but i still need to find one in good shape . i went and bought a cab and franders tonight , going to go pick them up saturday , then the work begins , having the cab makes me have to pull the body off the 1993 cummins truck and put the old body on it , as i don't have a place to keep the cab , lol **** city

Hey guys, its been a few days since I drove one of those older trucks, is the front end on leaf springs or coils? I had a 88 1/2 2wd with front coils, but if I remember correctly that the 4wd trucks had front springs?

I remember driving a few real dodge trucks back in the early to mid 80's. Man, I wonder if the front end at times even had any suspension movement, but they did tend to take more abuse than the GM did. They where work trucks, so we babied them out in the bush. A mighty 318 with a 4 speed manual, only option in it was the front vent windows.

I remember times of putting three/four (rough guess around 2000 lbs) barrells of oil in the back. Then drive them down a rough dirt road, day after day. We didn't know any better (young whipsnappers), Maybe we were lazy too.
