Question 5.9L exhaust on a 6.7L

Has anyone installed a turbo back exhaust from a 5.9L onto a 6.7L? if so, how was the installation? Which exhaust did you use?

Used expandit kit

Worked ok. The kit included muffler, needed to cut section of pipe down to allow room for muffler. The kit included more clamps than I needed. The kit came with some hangers that fit and others that I modified to fit. The instructions were all text, no pictures. Pictures might have helped. Expandit website does not have any additional info.

I am running the MBRP exhaust system. This is a 5" Turbo back with muffler attached and a 6" tip. The only problem we had during the installation was the transmission support need to be removed. This was to allow the factory down pipe to be removed from the truck.
Just order the 5.9L muffler system for either a short bed or long bed truck. This system will use the factory rubber isolators and mounting points.

So you guys are saying that the downpipes like in exactly the same spot? No new downpipe is needed to bring a system over from a 5.9?

Talking

I just installed the AFE Turbo Back 5" exhaust today. I also had to drop the trans support to remove the stock down pipe. Everything bolted up nicely. I ordered the 4.5-07 5.9L with a muffler. It came with pipes for both the long and short bed. I ditched the turned tail piece and added the piece for the long beds. So now my tip points straight back! I also installed the Smarty ME and it runs and sounds nice. I am pulling a trailer tomorrow, but can't wait to ditch the trailer for the real test.

If you are talking about the tubing that connects to the DPF, I plugged the hoses with a bolt and clamp.

Air tubing can come off the mounted unit on the drivetrain and stay with the emmisions. All else (electrical) taped up and zip tied out of the way. I left everything I could installed on the NOX/DPF.

Some fit better than others. I would say that the MBRP and AFE install the easiest on the 6.7 trucks.

I did the 5" Alum made by Expandit first, fit good but didn't like the sound so replaced with the 5"turboback from MagnaFlow(stainless) and love it. Great fit and finish. Sounds nice, not very loud just a low rumble.

Would you say this would be quiet enough to use for work? I mean pulling into an office parking lot and also driving around looking at job sites with clients.

No problem. I was looking for a little more rumble but I am more than happy with the sound. It is as close to stock as I have heard at idle or parking lot speed. When you put your foot into it it has a nice roar, still not loud. Like I said it is almost too quiet.

Got it from Rollin Smoke Diesel. Was part of a package so not sure somewhere around $600 I think. I got the Smarty,EGR delete a SS tip and the Alum exhaust for around $1K . I wasn't happy with the sound of exhaust so James at Rollin Smoke made me a deal on the SS system(another happy customer) and I sold the Alum one.
