Factory-installed spray-in bedliner option or Line-X?
Do you guys think there are any differences between the factory-installed spray-in bed liner and a Line-X bedliner?
Is the factory option worth it for $475?
Would be interested to hear what you'd prefer and why. Thanks!

I think the factory one is too fine almost like a coat of paint with an orange peel finish. If you opt for the after market one and don't beat up your bed a lot you can always try going without one then if the bed does get marked up spray it in then.

I respectfully disagree.
My '12 has the factory spray in liner. It is almost identical in looks and texture to the Line-x that I had in my '04.
The only difference that I can see is that it is not quite as thick.

No Factory Liner
I agree with the Line X or another brand if its as good.
Factory seems thin. But they don't spray the bed rails or tailgate top. They're plastic caps. I read on here where some were having an issue with the tail gate cap getting pulled off when something got caught on it.
Also , factory doesn't spray between bottom of tailgate and bed. when the gate is open , stuff falls down and can and does scratch the paint. For me anyway , when i load trash / debris in the bed.

I would 2nd the Linex option... it wears like iron... but it is also a couple hundred $$ more than the factory option (around here at least.)
With respect to the bed rails and tailgate top... if you want to remove the plastic and spray liner on it you'll have to do some minor body work first... the rails have a line of holes down them under the plastic and the tailgate looks like swiss cheese under that plastic cap. Guess thats the answer to saving weight and trying to get better fuel economy. I for one would like the thicker sheet metal back and know that it won't dent when I look at it wrong.
