Anyone Driven a 2013 Yet?

I seem to remember that production won't start until the 15 Feb? Almost time for the 2014's, perhaps they should just skip the 2013 year altogether. One dealer told me Chrysler told them April for the first trucks and they said that probably means May.

2500's went into production on 1/7... Some dealers already have Hemi's in transit to their lots. I know they've got some Cummins units done and sitting in storage... There's a guy on the CF forum that has one built, sitting "in storage", and is waiting for the factory to ship.. I figure they 2013 2500 Cummins trucks should start appearing on dealer lots in March...

Here's some additional info on the 2500... The guy in CF was wondering why his truck went into storage at the factory... A dealer on CF checked to see what was going on and said that trucks in JS status (storage), were being held, for up to 30 days, for additional review or something like that. I think he or someone else said it was a quality control thing because of all the changes and Chrysler wanted to make sure all the new Cummins Rams were tops before delivery.
So even though the wait is a killer, it's a good thing....

When I ordered my 2011, it was built, (May 19). It went to JS status (Just Sitting),and it was not delivered until Aug 10. They had already started building the 2012,s before it left.

I'm sure the 2013 1/2 tons are awesome with the air ride suspension however, Ram has botched it bigtime by producing a "SRW" 3500 being limited to a 3:42 gear set. Stupid is as stupid does. I guess they didn't learn their lesson from the last spanking that they earned from GM and Ford. Personally, I would never pay 60K for a truck geared like a car. Way to go Tony, job well done.

3:42 is a great gear in these trucks with the G56 and stock tires. I liked 4:10s when I was running 37" tires though.

Try 3:42's in an automatic aisin or otherwise with say 34's or 35's and hook say 17K behind it and tell me what you think then. I "think" that the new 2014 GM's will still have the 3:73 optional gearing. I never thought I'd be leaving Ram but here we go.

The 3.42 gear issue was a mistake. I saw that on the spec sheet as well. Thought that was horrible. You can now get all gear ratios in the SRW. I wanted a 4500 with 4.88's, but could only get 4.88's in the 5500. That is why I wanted 5500. WIth 36" tires, 4.88's, I have a perfect RPM for towing up to 70 mph. 2k at 70 mph is perfect for towing heavy.
