alternator?
Most times I can solve most any problem that come's up. Well this one got me. I had one batteria with a dead short other not holding a charge. So I replaced them, like da. Then when I started the truck the battery showed up on the dash. SO i Replaced the alternator, still showing the battery. Then when checking heard about a fuse link. What and where?

Isolate the batteries and using a multimeter, verify that they are both the same voltage. Then connect them together and start the truck and measure the voltage again. Does it show a charge? What are the readings?

Here's what I Found
Had to make a run in to town in my wife's car. Stopped by 3 garages and a auto part's store. All of them were stumped after telling what I had done and were at lost of words. A common cause was a bad alternator. Other than that who know's. Well when i got back today went thought it again checking all connection's bolt's and codition of hose's and wire's. Even pulled the batterie's out. That's when I found it With these newer trucks and cars their are too much that can go wronge. I forgot to hook a wire up to the battery on the driver's side. Started the truck and all gauges worked and even that batteriy light was out.Hurray!!! All these fancy things for these newer cars and trucks are a wast. Miss my old 76 chev heavy half. If it didn't start only two things to check. Did it have gas to the carb. Or power to the plugs. They were simple to repair. I've pulled out and replaced a engine in less than 4 hours. Take me now that longe to fig out how.

If your truck's battery warning light is still on after replacing the batteries and alternator, check the fuse link. Here’s what to do:
Find the Fuse Link – It’s usually located near the battery or along the wiring harness. Look for a small, often cylindrical component in the wiring.
Inspect the Fuse Link – Check if it’s damaged or broken. Replace it if necessary.
Check Wiring Connections – Ensure all wires are properly connected and not damaged.
If you’re unsure where the fuse link is, refer to your vehicle’s manual or ask a mechanic for help.
