I have a 2012 4x4 with the center console. I old truck was a 2007 with the jump seat. I liked the jump seat but hate the new center console.
How much trouble would it be to change this out.

There is a thread on here that has that exact project outlined with pictures and some handy part numbers, for (I believe) a 2010 model. The center Dash panel is different, but the conversion looked very do-able. The biggest issue is the extra expense - it wasn't cheap to order all the right pieces to get it done. You might find parts in a salvage yard, though these trucks are still pretty new, and the value might make them more prone to rebuilding rather than scrap/parting.

I don't know if the interior of 1500 series trucks is the same? That might increase the odds of finding used parts.

 

I try the junkyard route. Maybe I can off set the cost buy selling the Console when I'm done.

 

Everything from '10 to '12 will fit. I still need to finish the install portion of the conversion on the jump seat conversion thread I started when I first did the project - currently away for training for a couple more weeks. Overall it was pretty simple and if my memory serves me correct, after selling my console I only invested $285...maybe a little higher...

Jump seat was from a 2012
Cup holder, outlets (lower bezel) and trim below cup holder - 2011
Radio bezel, floor duct and junk bin that goes in from of the jump seat are all new.

I can live with the console but the Genius that put that Ram emblem in the middle should be shot. This is my office and that emblem is a pain when doing paperwork!

 

Pics would be great. I have been throwing the notion around of getting a 2012 but I would miss the middle seat. The trucks are definitely nice!
