2010 3500 megacab 4x4 mileage
looking at picking up a 2010 3500 megacab 4x4 with either 3.73 or 4.10 gear ratio (not sure yet) can anyone tell me what to expect for mileage. 2 weeks ago I purchased a Ford F250. I have never seen a truck drink so much diesel fuel before. Thankfully they messed up the paper work and I was able to get out from under the deal. They told me I would get between 15-17mpg. [I] was lucky to see 12mpg. [I] am trading in a Tundra that gets 14.5mpg and 9-10mpg pulling a bass boat. I just want a truck that will be able to get better mileage as I travel a lot on weekends fishing. The dealership said I can expect between 17-18mpg with the dodge. Thanks!!

I just picked up a new 2010 3500 SRW Crew Cab Laramie 4x4 and the first few tanks of diesel, I got 18mpg highway empty hand calculated. Towing my 27 ft inline snowmobile trailer weighing about 5,000lbs I got 12mpg going into a headwind on the highway. All calculations were hand calculated. All the highway calculations were cruising at about 74 mph. I was surprised how close the computer was. My 06 mega cab 4x4 diesel was off about 1.5mpg and showed less than what I was actually getting. So far I am very impressed with my truck even though it only has about 1500 miles on it so far. I really liked my 06 mega-cab but I love this new one. The ride, the ammenities, the interior, the power and so far the mileage is just as good as my 06 was when I first got it. I'm hoping my mileage will improve as I put more miles on it. I absolutely love the truck. I forgot to mention I've got 3.73 gears. I don't think you will need the 4.10 gears unless you are pulling something over 12,000lbs. Good luck with your purchase, I think you will love the truck. If you can swing the extra coin, the Laramie package is worth the extra money if you like the comforts and plan on keeping the truck for awhile. JMHO

Thanks for the replies...Looks like I am getting a white 3500 megacab laramie 4x4 with the 3.73 gears. Truck is loaded to the max...GPS, bucket seats, rear DVD, adj. pedals, brake system, sunroof...etc. by the looks of things I should get around 16mpg around town. I will be happy with 12-14mpg towing my bass boat. Very excited to get it. They are very hard to find. Dealer has been looking for me all day. Most dealers won't give them up or just don't have what I want. Hopefully we can close the deal tomorrow and have my truck Saturday morning. Thanks again!!!
