What's the Best Way to Lift the Rear 1"?
#16
On my last truck I went to the local BOSTICK dealer (heavy duty truck facility). and they added another leaf inthe rear spring pack that raised it up about an inch over stock, but also made it pretty firm when unloaded.

It's expensive but a guy here at work did this with a 2.5" front lift and it looked absolutely awesome.

On my 07.
I bought spring packs from Lorenz. They are made by deaver i think. I think it sits well, I'd like another half inch of lift up front from 2 and it would be perfect.
Regardless, I'd do the shackles so you can adjust it some. If I had to do it again that is what I would do.
I'm pretty sure you need new shocks in the rear with the lift even it is only 1 inch....

What did you not like about the airbags out of curiosity? Was it just having to keep readjusting them? If so, I'm with ya on that one. You will love the 5100's. That's what I put on my truck after the right front Mopar shock busted a seal. The ride is 10x better than stock shocks! I've been eyeballing the Firestone front and rear air kit. The front uses a modified Bilstein shock.
The cheapest place I could find bilstein 5100 shocks was from donsports.com w/free shipping.

I love the air bags. No complaints about them whatsoever. I just don't want to have to rely on them 100% of the time to keep the rear of my truck at the desired height. I've essentially been using them as a lift kit. They work for that but it's not their purpose in life. I want toget the rear of the truck where I want it with the shackles and then just use the air bags to keep it there when I tow.

That makes sense! We've been looking at getting the truck ready for a fifth wheel so probably the next step is some air bags. I was just curious if you were supplementing the bags for fixed solution or going to a completely different setup. Thanks!
