Tire Size Calibration for H&S

Question about tire sizing calibration on the H&S, why hasn't anyone touched on the topic about lowering tire size to lower overall speed and in turn less overall kilometres on your truck through the course of ownership? I turned my tire size down so I'm about 18km/h less than I'm actually moving. In 160,000kms @18% I will save approx. 30,000kms on my truck when it hits that point if I was to keep it this way. The question is: will there still be a way to tell that there is actually more on the truck with a star scan tool or is this just a bad idea? The only things that suck is your speedo is out by quite a bit, but I use my GPS to tell me my speed anyways. And the fact that your onboard fuel mileage is out of whack also.

what would be the point of doing this? To have warranty last longer? You prolly dont have much of a warranty with the H&S on there to begin with. To sell the truck with more miles than it actually shows? To me, either scenario doesnt seem worth it.

I'm sure some guys are doing it, and yes to keep miles off, my trucks always look great when i sell them but I always have quite a few miles compared to what they look like on the outside, i plan on keeping this one for quite sometime anyways, makes me feel better that theres less on it in my own mind lol, call it stupid or whatever. I do all my oil changes on a 200hr rotation also

To be honest I can't see the reason to do it, if you take 2 used trucks the same year, one with 160,000km the other with 130,000km they are both only just broken in. You would buy the one that's been cared for the best, 30,000km is about one oil change if deleted, it's nothing. To pay for options you can't use like a speedo, odometer, fuel burn and a DTE just because you want the odometer to read 30,000km less is ....just not worth it.

I put about 30 on per year usually and no more than 40. That's one years worth of driving to me

But I can see this is a touchy subject with certain people because of the fake mileage issue. I'm resorting back to proper tire size because I miss the mileage indicator more than anything else about the whole idea

My family have owned Honda civics for many years, a couple of years ago I received a letter asking if I wanted to be part of a settlement from Honda because they had calibrated the speedometer/odometer to over read. It wasn't a lot but over time the mileage difference does add up. I guess someone decided to push the issue with Honda and they decided to settle out of court.
