Going to install under the rear seat subs on a stock stereo

I'm just in the process of buying an under seat sub box. I was thinking about going with dual 10in subs on this truck and use my old MTS 2500watt sub amp.

Curious on what subs would you guys run and like? I have to use shallow subs. I'm not much of a stereo guy, but like the extra sound that I get from the subs.

I was also planning on removing the interior and dynomat, install extra insulation/sound deading, just like I did on my 02 truck. Seems like a decent winter project.

JL W3's. Do yourself a favor and load em in a FoxBox.

They will fit, and they will slam.

You have to wire in the sub amp before the factory amplifer. I bought one of these PAC wire harness.

I also bought a dual 10in under seat sub box

I also purchased Rockford P3 punch shallow 10in subs, they are suppose to be pretty decent. Hopefully everything works out. I already have a 2500 watt MTX sub amp and plan on reusing it.

The really hard part is not wanting to rip out all the factory stuff and install some decent quality stuff. I really like the new pioneer and Kenwood stuff.

I'm also installing one of those 2 mile remote start systems and an espar heat system. I also ordered a 15000lbs winch for the truck.

Who knows whats next after that but I do know my wallet is empty again.

Mike that should work, but it can be done with a simple line out converter at the factory sub wiring at the back seat.

10 bucks. Easy Peasy

The Punch subs will sound good.

And that box looks pretty good too. Just make sure that the airspace is pretty close to what the subs require.

Thanks for the tip, I know the airspace area is too small, but hopefully it will be better than the stock sub (waste of money).

Now I'm waiting on parts to show-up before I start my mini build starts. I think its going to be neat to see how much more of the outside sound that I can suppress over the factory.

Mike,

Would love to see you post some pics of the box/sub after it's installed.

Thanks,

Tman

The parts just came in last night. I have to go up north for work till the weekend. Hoping I can get the subs installed next week. The dynomat might have to be installed during christmas timeline. Really hope the new subs improve the factory sound set-up.

but my transmission on saturday was slipping and not engaging correctly.

I can relate. I've put around $4K into my truck and it doesn't have 2000 miles on it yet.

My money goes into two trucks. Really really want to get an espar. I bought two espars systems and remote starter systems.

Hopefully the transmission isn't to bad of shape, or I going to swap in a G56 soon. Really wanted to wait till next year for that but life deals what it deals.

I just bought a bunch of stuff for the 2010, shocks 5165, toneau cover, espar, remote starter, and the speakers.

Espar is a coolant heater system, which is really nice at -20 deg's F I want to have a 2 mile remote start on the espar.

Nice set-up Mr Blake. I just had an extra MTX 2500 amp laying around and works awesome. The sub box is around $100 and the speakers are $160 each. The place were I bought the stuff wants to do the install for free. I'm really hoping to get some more sound performance out of the stock stuff, without throwing out a bunch of stock equipment.

Tonight we expecting lows of -20 deg's F. Burr that sounds like winter

Ok I finally found some time to install the subs and amp. Here are a few pictures. All I can say man this set-up rocks mon. Best $500 bucks that I've sent in awhile.

Just have to get that darn transmission fixed up and add another 100-200rwhp to the engine.
