flo pro exhaust

Trying to decide on an exhaust for my truck. Not sure if I should get the 4 or 5 inch and if I want to run a muffler or not. How is the fit on their systems and what kind of sound level differences are there between the different sizes with and without muffler. Looking for a good throaty sound but nothing loud and obnoxious

My 07 is straight piped with a cat and I want to muffle it. I have a friend who has the same truck with a performance 4 inch and a muffler. And its much nicer especially on the high way.

I have a straight 5"

Its not nearly as loud as I would have thought. Has a nice deep tone to it and a touch of drone at 2200rpms. Nothing I cannot deal with.

Now I havent towed anything with it yet either, so cant say on that front.

How is the fit on the 5" system? Do you have to relocate the spare tire with it?

no relocation of anything. I have the 5" with muffler stainless turbo back flo pro system. I don't use their clamps though but the OCD kicks in and I buy Donaldson 5" preformed stainless clamps off of a semi. can get them at any big rig dealer for about $12 or so each. Use an impact to get them on as you WON'T get them tight enough by hand. the fit and finish of flo pro kits are great. only beef I have with them (or with any exhaust kit that large) is that sometimes I have received the kits that the ends are bent but nothing that can't be straightened out with a pair of channel locks. I think its from fed ex or ups driver being ticked cause the box is so heavy and dropping an edge on the ground and causing the damage.

To add to what cbrahs stated, since I have the Mega Cab I had to cut about 8" off of the extension pipe that they sent to me because it was too long.

Good thing is that I have a great welder and once cut I welded everything in. No clamps except for at the turbine and the one all the way in the back. Trust me, it was not easy.

How much clearance is there between the spare tire and the spring with the 5" system?

here is a pic of mine laid out before the install. I have installed a bunch of these and thank God it happened on my truck but I was getting a bad vibration that would transmit thru the cab only at idle. i checked clamps, any place possibly touching metal, ensured rubber mounts were secure but found out the muffler was the cause. spoke with flo pro engineer about it too. so I deleted the muffler and it went away (for the most part). reinstalled the muffler but installed it in the farthest place rearward and vibration is gone.

you can see the section of straight behind the muffler, swap that piece and put in front of the muffler.

Thanks! Ordered the 5" straight system, black maxx, and egr/cooler delete. I've had the truck for 3 weeks and can't wait to get it running right

On mine everything clears pretty good. Firewall, spare no issues. The rear shock is a little close, but didnt have any problems with it.
