Is Your New Truck Makin' Oil! Fuel Dillution?
#31
My understanding of the previous comments is that "active regeneration" utilizes a 4th injection vent that shoots fuel during the exhaust stroke and "passive regeneration" is just running your pickup hot enough to burn the filter contents without adding fuel. I would've thought that active regen would've meant sending some fuel directly to the canister??? I also have this oil dilution problem and it doesn't make me a happy camper. (i guess deletes are gonna come even sooner....just waiting for smarty to come out for 2010's)

I just put on 1000 miles on my 2010 truck this week and my oil is still pretty clean. Just dump the egr/dpf and lose the 4th injection event. Even in stock mode, without the egr/dpf I bet the truck is up 15-20rwhp, still running the stock exhaust. Can't wait for the smarty to come out, it might make more power than the H&S and I can stack it with an edge box.
