exhaust brake squeal?

I have a 2012 ram 3500 srw 4x4 with the 68rfe. I was driving empty and starting downshifting manually with exhaust brake on and I kind of downshifted to fast and the truck really reved up and I heard like a squeal or screech sound. I don't know if it was the turbo or transmission or what it was? Has anyone ever had this happen or know what would cause the noise? Thanks guys.

Are you sure it wasnt the tires squealing??? A lot of turbo whistle is normal and it will sound a little higher pitched. Wait until you hear it deleted.

I agree it probably was tire squeal just don't use it in slippery conditions.

I don't think the exhaust brake is capable of making the tires squeal, but I do know that you can REALLY hear the exhaust brake on a deleted truck.

Check the mounting hardware for the EGR cooler/manifold. If it gets a little loose, the exhaust back pressure from the EB will squirt out through one of the gaskets, causing the gasket to do a saxaphone reed type thing. The rear one is the usual culprit.
