Deleted, but need to take truck into dealer
About a month ago, I did the cat and DPF delete, and loaded the Smarty ME software, on my 2010 2500 and love it.
Now, my passenger mirror is not working correctly and would like to have it fixed by the dealer. What will happen if I reload the stock software with the deletes still in place? Will the truck go into "limp" mode?
I don't want to risk something happening to the Smarty programming while the dealer has the truck.

Yes it will go into severe limp mode.
I thought about the same thing. All I know to do is tell them, and make them write on the service order DO NOT FLASH under any circumstances.

just a thought, but if they have to go into the body control module (if the mirror issue is electrical and not mechanical) then a reflash may be done.

well here is the thing. the new ECM's and MANY other computers on these new trucks (especially the laramie), the tech does not have a choice but to hook up the WITECH (system that plugs into OBDII port and remotely communicates with the computer sitting on the techs tool box or laptop). the tech has the ability to see all modules present, which ones are operating correctly, if there is a software update, any stored or pending codes (per module) and remotely operate dang near the ENTIRE truck via the laptop.
SO
unless its a blatent mechanical breakage, they will more than likely be hooking up the WITECH to ensure the BCM is communicatiing with the new mirror.

Just take it in and be HONEST. Talk to the service manager AND the tech doing the work to make sure they know you have a programmer installed and they are not to flash the ECM, have them write on the work order DO DOT FLASH ECM.
If they wont work with you take it to another dealer.
I have been deleted for over a year and have taken my truck in for all the recalls along with a seat replacement that the leather was already cracked on. I talked with them to be sure they all knew NOT to flash the ECM and I have yet to have them refuse to work on MY truck.

he would have to re-install ALL emissions equipement or the truck will go into limp mode. can't just remove the programmer with everything removed and not set off any bells and whistles and expect it not to set a check engine light.

That's why I intend to run the JR without making any mods.
