Need advice - tire size question

OK, ok, I know these questions get old, but here's a slight twist.

Looking for everyone's experience with the largest tire size to fit on stock rims, with a 2" leveling kit, INCLUDING actually compressing the suspension -
not just on level ground, turning lock-to-lock.

I'm wondering if 35s with the leveling kit will rub when the front suspension articulates off-road. It's just a temporary setup until my Kore Unlimited next year, but I still want it useable for more than street driving.

Thanks in advance for any advice, guys!

the only place they will rub is the control arms. they will not rub the fenders.

What he said. My BFG MT 35's do great with only a leveling kit. But they will rub a little on the control arms at full lock either direction. It's easy to drive around it though.

I have 35's and no leveling kit and it's like as mentioned before, they rub the control arms at full lock.

And it's no worse turning and hitting bumps at the same time? I'm just making sure that I can actually USE the truck with the 35s. I don't want to tear off a fender because I had the wheels turned AND went over a speed bump at the same time.

Thanks again! BTW, where in TX are you?

i dont have a leveling kit. i have NEVER had one of my tires hit the fender. only place you will rub is the control arms.

i am located in northeast texas. about 80 miles due east of dallas on lake fork.

That's nice to hear. So many people put larger tires on just for show, and so they SAY that "I only get a little rub at full lock", but they don't tell you that if they are turning and try to go over anything resembling a bump or a rut, they are tearing off their fender.

---> I just want to be sure my truck can still be fully functional as a truck if I put on 35s with the leveling kit

Hey TexasCTD, BTW, what kinda wear are you getting out of those BFG KM2s? It's one of the few I'm considering. You like them alot?

It doesn't rub anywhere but the control arms. No problems at all with the fenders. You can see pics of them in my gallery, with plenty of clearance. Now granted I don't do any rough off roading with the truck but I have never had an issue with the 35's.

McKinney is about 30 miles north of Dallas on US 75. Are you in Texas?

Mine are wearing great at 20K miles so far. I see no reason that they won't go 50K. I do mostly highway running too. When I do replace them I may go back to an A/T tire but I can't really complain about these KM2s.

Does anyone know if you would still rub the control arms with rims that had a negative offset? Or will you only rub with the stock rims?

If you go much farther out with the rim , then you hit the fenders , and bumper valance....it`s a FINE line between fitting or hitting.

I`d rather rub the control arms , because that doesn`t hurt anything.
