The center needs to be machined to open up the hub by about 1/4" People have done it with routers, also.

The wheels/trucks are hubcentric so the center hole is what centers the wheel, not the lugs. It has to be opened up a bit to fit the Dodge hub.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

The Dodge hub is larger than the Chevy so the center hole needs to be opened up to 4.778".

The wheels are not hubcentric. They are lugcentric. Other than that you're correct.

I just did mine too. I got 4 wheels with tires which had about 2K miles on them, chrome. Price was $650 delivered. I had my tire shop machine the wheels to "spec" hub dimensions, dismount and remount for $150. The fit was great! The wheels are lug-centric I believe, but the hubs now are a really snug fit. Now also the wheel bore is cemetrical too.

First impressions were....
1. Slight, but noticable loss of power due to the heavy tire weight
2. About a 2-3 MPG loss per overhead computer
3. Inflated to 43 psi and the ride quality is much better (I have the Bilstein 5100)
4. No rubbing at full lock and I even installed the factory molded mud flaps
5. On the 2007 6.7, dealer says there is no way to recalibrate the speedo?

Pauly's right.

Truly hub-centric wheels use lugs that have a flat shoulder on the lug nuts where they contact the wheel. The lugs just hold the wheel to the rotor.

When lugs that are cone-shaped are used, the wheels are lug-centric. I guess it helps to have the center of the wheel snug on the hub, but IMO it can be a PITA on these wheels.

I had mine machined so they had about 1/2 to 1 mm to spare. Much easier to take the wheels on and off, especially if your hub has rusted a bit. I'll do the same with my next set. Maybe even more oversize, as I plan to powdercoat the wheels.

Goes to show you that you can't believe everything you read online.

Thanks for clearing that up, guys. So, how vital is the milling spec on the H2's?

As long as you're over 4.774" (or whatever it is) so it fits you're good to go.

Don't machine away too much, as the cone on the balancing machine likes to have an angled surface to seat properly.

I used a grinder with a 4 inch disk and did mine in the garage, my holes arent perfect but they work, the closer you get to perfect the less weights they will put on at the tire shop (I found that out the hard way)

Not to hijack the thread, but I am getting my H2 Wheels machined as we speak. I am thinking of powder coating them black for $75 a wheel. Anyone have pics of a black powder coated H2 Wheels on your truck?
