XM Radio Hurts AM Reception

XM Radio Hurts AM Reception
Just had an XM Radio installed in my 03 Ram Diesel 2500. The XM add on was hard wired using a new FM modulator. The XM and FM sound great, but the AM signal is much weaker, making it impossible to listen to out of town stations I previously enjoyed on AM. Thanks in advance for any ideas how to solve this problem.

I always turn off my XM when I listen to AM or FM. The technician tested the reception by hard wiring back through the original antenna. AM reception was strong. When he rewired using an FM modulator and connecting the XM, I no longer could get my strong AM reception.

FM Modulator's are horrible. The only way to wire XM or Sirius is a dedicated RCA input through the back of your receiver.
If you have the factory installed head unit go to logjamelectronics.com to find an adapter that will convert your input to accept RCA cables. You can also buy a stereo jack from Radio Shack that plugs into your XM unit via 3.5mm plug and adapts to RCA cables.
