Fuel filter o-ring!? &*(^*%
What the heck? I took the fuel filter out to check on it, and to drain the separator. The o-ring wouldn't go back in. It was too large. I fought with the thing for a good hour to get it back in. I had to snug down the top, and then work the thing in with a screwdriver. Can I buy the o-ring from a dealer that fits right?

You might just have to buy a new filter. It comes with the ******o ring.

I figured that they must expand once they get soaked or something. The **** words I was using aren't even 'bad' words. Oh well, what the hell. It even blocked out '*******'.

Yep! Dab a little oil around the the o-ring and she'll spin in there nicely, several years of changing them in my trucks and no problems so far.
But in my early days I had the same problem as you did, it wierd how they seem to get bigger after being installed...

I'm off to the local Freightliner service shop (conveniently located less than a mile from home) to pick one up now. I should have it in within the hour! I'm so optimistic sometimes. Hopefully, there will be no more ******* language today.

Well this is foobar now. I went to the Freightliner shop, which is open 'till 12 am. I paid $10.70 for the fuel filter, but didn't really look at the box he gave me until I got home. I've never seen a Fleetguard anything before. He gave me an "Alliance Parts" filter, which has BOTH part #'s ABP/N10G and FS19597. It says "Freightliner" on the box, so does that mean it's the same filter? I don't want to put a cheap knockoff in it. I'm going to have to start typing in stars again . . . .

I had a customer ask me to check his Fuel filter one time and I told him that would happen... He didn't believe me and of course it stuck out the side... Lucky for him I had some Yellow Teflon tape (Oil Type) and I just pull the o ring out and taped it up.
3 wraps usually takes care of it!
