Would you buy a black truck? Why or why not?

Would you buy a black truck? Why or why not?
The question is in the title. I want to know if you would sacrifice the off-days for those in which you have the sexiest-looking truck on the block.
By the way, how do you use a claybar? I mean, what are the steps? For example, 1. Wash the truck, 2. Dry the truck, 3. ..., 4. ...?

No, not if if it was a daily driver. I've had two and they were, by far, the worst looking trucks after a couple of years. I do think they are the sharpest looking when relativley new and clean.

black looks sharp, but they are hard to keep clean. every spec of dust shows on them, as do the slightest dings and dents. more importantly here in south texas they get much hotter than the lighter colors.

I have owned 3 black trucks in a row. 1 dually the rest singles and the only way I would not get black is if I were buying another dually. One of the things I do, is to not dry it with a towel. I use the clear plastic walmart squeegie type deal and I dont have a swirl, towel line, buff marks or anything. The paint on this truck with 100k on it still looks like new. Give or take a few stone chips. If not cared for , black can look scratchy pretty quick after the truck is new, but if cared for , it is the best looking color.

I love the looks of a black truck, but you have to keep good care of them or they start looking like hell. As long as you dont mind waxing all the time I'd say go for it. Cant beat the look of a black pickup.

No way i had one never again if you always want it clean wich im sure you will you will wash it so much it will dull the paint so they constantly need polishing to keep that deep finish we all love. Our Dirt is snow white were i live so that was even worse for me.

Hell, my truck is black and I don't mind it but with 90k on it it's in need of a buff or ....yes I actually been pondering on a color change! Black and white are the hardest colors to keep perfect but, when they look good , they look GOOD! Like alot of guys have pointed out, it all depends on where you live! I live in NH where in the summer it's easy to keep clean bu tin the winter...SALT makes everything white! Well, in short its all up to your personal preference! Good luck!

Personally I love the look of a black truck, but after owning a black vehicle, I decided against it. Most guys have voiced my concerns with black. Tough to keep clean, gets hot in the sun, shows every imperfection, and just takes more care to keep looking good.

This is my first Black truck. I hesitated buying it because of the keeping it clean and showing every dent and scratch issue, but now that I own one I'am glad I went black.
Sure it takes a bit to get it gleaming but the way I figure it is if I was willing to drop what a guy does on these things it is well worth the 4-5 hrs it takes to wax and polish once every 6 weeks. I your worried about it getting dirty them keep it in the showroom.
