WOOHOO! I own finally a Cummins!

After saving for a few years and doing my research I knew what I wanted, a used 04-05 Cummins 6 speed.

Couldn't find a used one with low mileage so got a brand new 06 quad cab 4X4 SLT longbox with a 6 spd. Hard to find up here in BC but they brought one down from the interior and I picked it up last night!
(Can't beat the 0% financing they had in March.)

Ordered a canopy today, boat rack and Jordan brake controller next.
Looking forward to towing the trailer up the Coquihala, after 1 day it feels great!!

Reverse is down and left, what tranny is this?

Congrats on your truck

I've got 4k miles on mine. It has been operating as expected so far.

Congrats on the new truck.

As far as the 6 Spd, that would be the G56.

Enjoy

Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll be happy, especially with the stick.

Jeff, Piers and Valley Fuel Injection (B&D) are both bearby, I'll be checking bth of them out for pillar gauges, pyro, boost and fuel pressure the way to go I guess¿

Wanna leave it mostly stock for now, cosmetic stuff mostly, maybe de-badging and maybe bigger tires. 285's I guess? Like to go bigger but would need a levelling kit to run 315's from what I've read, the "death wobble" seems to show up more on lifted big tired trucks?

Plus not sure if I want to lose power due to bigger tires, wish I had 4.10's instead of 373's.

Been looking at your galleries, some nice trucks! Like your bumper Tex, looks plenty serious! How you like the Mile Marker? My brother had one on his 96 Cummins, never had to use it, sold it a long time ago.

Thanks for the compliment on the bumper. I haven't really had a chance yet to use the milemarker much. Seems pretty stout so im sure it is up to the job whenever I do use it.

Yah, and with the 0% financing it didn't make sense to go to the hassles of going to Red Deer to pick it up. Love the 06 so far!

Will be using the seach function of this site as much as I can, but be prepared for lotsa stupid questions!

First being, what's the best kind of fuel additive for use in the Vancouver area and where's the best place to get it?
(Anyone from BC on here?)
The owner's manual says none is required, but wouldn't hurt, right¿

Westcoaster on here is from Surrey. (and megajoltman too, just noticed on edit!)

As for addititves, I use Howes diesel treat and am now thinking about switching to Howes Meaner Cleaner which I saw at the Flying J here and says they guarantee a 4% increase in overall fuel economy. $20 a bottle and the ratio is one ml to one litre (or fairly close to that anyways) which should work out to about 8 fills worth in a bottle. Real quick math works out to about $2.50 per fill to save me about $5.00 per fill roughly.

I'm soooo confused!
