I know insurance wont cover it, but do it...I had a chip sealed by Glass Doctor...Lasted about a year until a full crack developed top to bottom....

You might check with your insurance company. I have AmFam and they will pay for Chip repair w/ no deductible.

Believe or not, alot of oil change place's will fix it through your insurance. They would rather pay for a chip repair than a whole windshield. I've had 2 windsheild's replaced through State Farm, and it didn't cost me a penny. And, my rate's didn't go up,,,,that I know of.

I had mine repaired about a month ago. State Farm told me if the damage could be covered up by a quarter, it could be repaired and they would pay 100% of it. Went on down to the local glass shop and took him about 30 min. So far so good.
