Wife's Hemi...

My wife has an 03 hemi, all of a sudden, the lamp out light goes on and off, and the dinging is driving her nuts. (she just left for a small road trip ~4hours.) She said that after about an hour of this, when she hit the brake, it would stop for about 30 minutes. ???

I'm figuring that a bulb is loose in the socket, but I have never heard a truck do like hers did. The light was going on and off at a rate of about 1x every 3 seconds... She also says that there are no lights out.

When I get home tonight, I'm going to reseat everything and see what's going on. Just wondering if anyone had had a problem with something like this.

TIA!

Mine has done that a few times. If you pull the break lights out you will probly see what is going on.

When mine did that the light started to melt the part that it plugs in to and blew the bulb.

It could also be sinceing(sp) a light that is about to go out. Hope this helps.

My truck did the same thing. Ding the Lampout comes on then goes out. Then Ding it does it again. Mine was a "bad" turn signal. It wouuld intermittently go out then it would work again. Found it by accident, I think the bulb was loose in socket but replaced it anyway. So you might try reseating the Tail/Brake lights.

Thanks for the info, DTRonians. I was hoping it was something easy. We'll see in a bit.

Same Thing

Mine did the same thing. Ding, ding, ding....it gets old. Finally one day it stayed on long enough to stop and get out and figure out which one it was. Sure enough the passenger side tail light was out. Took it to the dealer and they replaced it under warranty. The only reason they did that though was that it started at 34,000 or so miles and the dealer knew about it. I didn't find it until 37,000 or so miles. Talk about being a royal pain.

Mine was just a wire on the bulb socket melted... I had trouble with this side before, the connector has a wierd color to it. New bulb fixed it right up. I need to get another assembly for it, I see more problems down the road with it. I seems cheaply made to me, IMO...
