Wife is short new power step

Wife is short new power step
My wife can't climb in the 4x4 we looked at the other day. I saw in the brochure for the Dodge that they have a power step that comes out when the door is open and folds away when closed. It looks like they come down further than the fixed running boards which are still to high for my wife. Anybody have these? How much? Are they worth the price?

Re:Wife is short new power step
I got them, not realizing that my 2x4 would be shorter than a 4x4. Still and all, I like them a lot and use them all the time. They are also available for the rear doors. The cost was $675 installed. My xyl hates the running boards I put on the old truck, but she loves these as they tuck underneath when not in use.

Do they look like they will stand the test of time? Are they built well and simple? If they have a lot of moving parts it will make me less sure. Are the back door ones the same cost?

The "Sidewinders" are designed to take 350 lbs. the pivot parts have a grease zerks for you know why. As far as I can remember they have been on the market about 6 years and the fact they still sell them to me, means they work.

$195 per step, a'int chicken feed to me either.

Wha da ya think?
..Preston..

Re:Wife is short new power step
Thanks phox, I didn't mention I also have a bad back since high school (broken vertebrate). In fact I'm wearing a "lava belt" to put heat on it right now. I don't think I'd qualify though since I also play and coach soccer, lift weights, etc... Now if I can just get a letter about my wifes height disability.

Jean,

I'm sure my wife would love to hear that she can be considered disabled due to her height. I'm still laughing about that and can't bring myself to tell with a strait face.
