WIF light self test on dash
I've read through the service manual and it seems the WIF light is supposed to illuminate and then go off when starting. Mind doesn't do this. No other engine lights or anything. Took it to the dealer to have them look at it and said the computer says everything is fine. Which I imagine it would since there are no other lights on.
anyone else notice this, or do yours come on at start up.
Mines an 06 with auto.

I asked the same question about two years ago and couldn't get a straight answer. Mine doesn' come on either though, not even during the instrument test (pushing ODO button at key-on).

The light does not work for most! It's funny that everyone is talking about running there aftermarket fuel pump through the stock filter housing because they want the water in fuel light that doesn't work! In 6 years and over 100k I have never seen it on ever!

I think it does not function correctly or if at all.Lots of posts over the years about damaged injection system and no warranty etc.Yet no one seems to stick this WIF light issue up someones you know what with Chrysler about the system not working as designed.Maybe now someone will dig deeper into this issue?

I was reading on another forum that the led in the cluster was bad and dodge was going to replace to fix the problem, I wonder if there was a string of bad clusters? I have done the bulb test and I dont see it, I have never seen it before to even know what it looks like.

When I first bought my truck the WIF light would not come on in the self test mode when I started the truck. Then I got a new flash (first of many) and the light works now. I've never seen it on to indicate water in the fuel but it does come on during the self test. My truck was built in June of 07 and the flash that fixed it was sometime in the spring of 08.

hmmm.......might be work looking into. I just hear the new flash has some weird features. Like the reverse back up dinging or what not. What was your experience after the flash?
I mean, for the light to not come on during a self diagnostic test does not lend me to believe it will come one when there is actually a significant amount of water.

On the 06 it never comes on, supposed to be normal. I guess the dealership can do an on command test of it with a Starscan but thats all.. which is TOTAL BS, IMHO.
