Will the kitty eliminator cause EGT's to go up. If so, does towing less than 5k really cause any concern with EGT's.

my roommate has an 05 and his has the cat. He called a muffler shop and they told him since there was no emissions testing he could lose the cat and still pass inspection (in texas). He wanted a 5" straight pipe and they told him all it would do was void his warrenty. As far as I know, in texas the only thing cat removal/gutting will do is void your warrenty. Yea 12.50 a year for an inspection is annoying but the $100 ticket you get for not having it is a lot more annoying. Why can't they just let us have our fun??

diddn't mean to repeat ya HOSS.

I wonder why Cat cutout voids your warranty?(Is it just the warranty on the exhaust/ emmision system??) If that's the case, would putting a different muffler on a truck void warranty?(NOT)

I don't see how that can void a warranty, unless THEY can prove that it did something to cause a failure. We are protected by the Moss-Magnussen (sp?) act.

The trucks will definately run cooler without the cat, than with. Cooler is better! Heat is not your truck's friend.
