after my first 1k miles ive been running bd in various concentrations up to 100%. no problems, but i make it and i make sure its primo. the common theory on the 5% thing is that they have no way of ensuring the quality so they dont want the liability of dealing with it. theyve probably got oil interests to contend with as well, after all abdul needs to feed his camels. the problem you'll hear about common rail issues with bd aka polymerization comes back to bad quality, the presence of soaps and other stuff that should have been washed out cause excessive fuel filter clogging. ive heard many stories of poor quality commercial bd. i sometimes wonder if i should have gotten a first gen because there is more room for error on non cr fuel systems, but i didn't so im a guinea pig now. no regrets i love my truck. i'll be sure to post any warnings if i screw it up. also if im running 100% i never fill it all the way up so if something breaks i can dump in petrodiesel and maybe avoid warranty issues. 50 cents a gallon for me and i have to drive 70 miles a day. its worth it and i dont have to feed any camels.

I have a 60 gallon tank in the bed of my 03 HO plumbed to dump into the regular tank. When the big tank runs out, I go to the Biodiesel (soy) plant and fill up. Then I add it (gravity feed) to the regular tank to approximate 30-50 bio. Works great, engine is quieter, no filter problems (but I always carry a spare). I paid $2.48 at the last fill.
