Where to get HVAC parts?!?

Hey guys, I plan on pulling the dash and replacing the parts needed to get my **** AC to blow cold and true through both sides (pass, driver) I was just gonna replace all four flap doors. Should that be good or is there more?

I have the dual climate control with the sliders. I've read a lot of threads about the a/c systems and their flaws and to my knowledge replacing the doors should fix me up.

I also need to know what compressor oil and how much 134 the system holds. I noticed under the hood it said 15-sp pag oil. The dealer I called couldn't verify or tell me what PAG oil to use or how much freon to charge it with. I've searched the interweb and can't seem to find these answers. Anyhelp is greatly appreciated!!

The required amount of refrigerant and oil required should be on a label under the hood.

It said 14oz of freon. To me that seemed REALLY low, considering eery other vehicle I've vacuumed and recharged takes about 36oz min.

As far as the 15-sp PAG oil. I wasn't sure if regular PAG 100 would work in it like you can purchase at o'reillys.

Wow, 14oz sure doesn't sound right. Can't remember how much the 3rd gens called for, but most pickups (like 2nd gens) call for 2 lb.

Alright, I'll take another gander at it tonight. If I read it wrong I'm gonna blame it on the major heat outside haha.

Now what about the PAG OIL?

Some machines will do this, but you still need to program in how much oil to add. The common way to do it is to find the chart in the service manual that tells you how much oil each component usually holds, then add the oil amounts for all the listed components you are changing. Another way is to drain the oil from each component you remove, measure it and add the same amount of new. A certain amount of oil will escape when you reclaim the refrigerant too, and it should be added into the total as well.

The sticker will say what part number of Mopar oil to use. I don't know of any way to convert that to whatever aftermarket oil is available.

Ester oil is also compatable with R134a. If you just recharge 1 or 2 ounces is all you need.
