One one auto car wash around here were I am not supposed to go in but I can fit as far as the drive though I don't have any probloms.

The big problom around here is the town was layed out for horse&buggy so the fit down most of the side streets is tight.

Is the carwash on Copper an automatic, or DIY carwash?

I hand wash atleast every 2 weeks and in the winter I stretch it to the warmest day that's just over the 2 week interval, but if its below 50 I don't bother. I doubt you would have to turn it off at drive thru's, these things are so quiet compared to the old ones. I can drive an excursion with a 7.3 to the drive thru's and I don't have a problem.

Depends on what kind of exhaust your running.

It is a DIY, good quality brushes and the spot free is really spot free. My truck is black so I have to be careful where I clean it and I have NO problem there. He is trying to sell it though! wished I had the $$ to buy it.

There was a drive through touchless that had sign saying it would fit long bed crew cab dualies. I pulled in to it in my extended cab long bed dually Chevy, but just didn't quite trust it; It just looked too tight. Even the corner to get into the bay required a 3 point turn.

One other thought...no matter what you do I think it is better using cold water to wash the truck if you are in an area with snow and salt. Salt dissolves a lot easier, read goes into solution, the warmer the water. You don't want to dissolve the salt, but wash it away before it dissolves. I have been known to do the driveway hand wash with temps in the 20s, if the sun is out, with bucket of barely warm water and cold water rinse.

I havn't washed my dually since the day I bought it. Mine spends its life on country roads and farms when its not pulling my trailer. No point in washing it lol.

I will have to find a place once the salt gets put down. I hate salt with a passion. I think there is a Blue Beacon about 30 miles in the city.

streakin beacon! they use acid in their water so watch out. Learned that the hard way when I was driving over the road. GOT WAY MAD when I saw my Pete come out. Ended up getting a free wash and they had to re-do everything and get rid of the streaks. Took me a week to polish everything back to where it was.

I've got a hot and cold hose bib at the house with an on-demand water heater. Very nice for washing things.

Use a bucket of hot water from the kitchen sink or hook up a garden hose to the hot water system.

I paid for a hand wash and wax a few months ago, and I was pretty disappointed with the quality. Wax on top of a bug. Never gonna pay for a wash again....

I bought a pressure washer a few months ago... Gonna try it out on the 07 tomorrow.

I am getting used to the dually thing too... closing in on my first year, reality is that its barely wider than a srw.

If you just spray it off with the hose the salt will rinse right off, salt is soluble in water.

I own a carwash, and some of the "laser" washes- (looks like an inverted "L") will wash dually's.- the kind like mine that are a "rollover" automatic will not. If the wash is set up right, it will not strip your wax, and the wax we use is actually quite good. I have several customers who have never hand waxed their 8-10 yr. old vehicles and they still carry a really nice shine. best bet is to look for an attendant at a clean, modern wash, and ask if the wash will fit duallys-
