Get used to freezing!! It won't fit through a regular car wash, and be careful of the do it yourself wash bays, thoses brushes will scratch the **** out of your black truck. You can use them, just bring your own sponge, I go later at night, when noone is there so you can take your time. As far as drive-thru's go, it all depends, get used to driving it before you attempt it. I stay away from them, not to mention you have to shut the truck off so they can hear you!! Go luck with the new ride.

I can manage to fit thru most drive thrus-you will get used to the size after a while as long as you go around the corners wide. As far as washing it-I do it at home-there aren't any drive thru car washes that I know of that accept duallies. I don't fit in the bank teller drive thrus: I was squeaking by literally by the sidewalls of my tires the last time I tried it, and that was with the stock tire size/rims, so I don't plan on doing that again!

One thing I learned about a car wash is that the soap they use can strip your polish/wax right off.

At the house. If it's cold out get a bucket of hot water for the car wash soap. No big deal, but you are gonna freeze in the winter.

$20.00 gets a hand wash, spray on wax, hand towel dry and tire dressing.
Most are open 24/7.

I have a hard time fitting my quad cab, long bed through drive thru's such as McDonalds. You guys must have some wide drive thru's in your areas.

The first time I needed to clean mine was when I realized the drive through carwashes were out. I normally wash my vehicles in the driveway anyway, but when it's cold out, I will go to a carwash. I take my own bucket and sponges and go early. A lot of them around here have heated bays, so I can wash and dry my truck in the bay.

As far as drive thru's - You will start remembering which ones you can fit through and which ones you can't. I have 2 Taco Bells 1 mile from my house. I can drive through one, but not the other. The one has a 90 degree turn that a Mini would have trouble with!

There are driving advantages though. I find getting onto the interstate in a 1 ton dually is a lot easier than in a car. Other drivers tend to make room for you.

wipe on wipe off grasshopper!

I am in the same boat with a truck that is nearly 9 feet tall. Had the same problem with my past 3 dually's. there is a place here in town for $20 they will hand wash and dry a larger truck like a dually.

i think it is the car wash on montgomery and tramway. That is what I have been told. I don't trust anyone to wash mine unless it is getting fully detailed for car shows. I alwasy use the car wash on tramway and copper behind the 7/11. buddy of mine owns it and i don't even dry the truck, he spent a TON of money on his spot free rinse and with a black truck, trust me it is spot free.

I wash mine @ work in the heated wash bay that is large enough for our Prevost Coach Bus. It's 180 deg water straight from the gas fired boilers. It's nice not having to freeze or pay .
