Whats up with the Dodge (quality)

Get into a different line of work. I'm an engineer and have no scratches or dings on my truck.
I do haul a boat and quads around and haven't really noticed this problem.

Hell, I'll attest to the cheap sheet metal. The week I got my truck we went out to Georgetown and a drunk friend of my roommate's jumped over the tailgate and landed in the bed with a hard thud. His HEAD dented the bed. HIS HEAD! I mean, come on!

The sheet metal on the bed and doors seems to be the thinest. Could be alot better. I don't have a problem with the paint though. I think it's one of the better I've had over the years.

Regarding 4x4NOT, It is a well know fact that Large Rocks that are dropped will damage sheetmetal. I suggest one of the Rubber Matts for protection, or keep your drunken friends away from your truck. Next time he might go for the hood!
