You should notice a difference because the stock speakers are crap. I changed out my stock stereo out about a month ago. I didn't notice a huge difference with changing out my stock unit while retaining the factory speakers.

After I changed out the stock 6 x 9's up front yesterday, coupled with the Pioneer stereo there was a HUGE difference in clarity.

I haven't changed out my speakers yet, but I could tell a huge difference in sound quality and volume when I switched to the Alpine Head unit. I am sure a change of speakers would be even more so though.

It won't change a whole lot if you keep the factory head unit, in fact it might sound worse if it doesn't have enough wattage to push the new speakers.

If you change head units you really have to change the speakers though. The stock paper pieces of junk probably won't last long with decent watts going to them.

It says I have an infinity sound system with the laramie. I guess I'll have to take the door panels off to see whats behind them.

6x9's in the front doors, 6.5 rounds in the rear doors. Easy to replace, and it makes a HUGE difference.

head unit, all wires, amp for the subs......you are only delaying the inevitable if you just do speakers. I am getting away with a high power head unit pushin all 4 door speaks plenty loud, and an amp run mono at low ohms pushin a ton of power to a pair of jl's subs........ cbrahs, not sure what else ya mite want to run off your inverter, but radio shack has a good lookin 1200 watt continuous power unit for 170 bux, or ebay for the same unit for 116.

Has anyone added a sound processor to their amped infinity speakers? I've heard that the front speakers don't get full sound.

Bought some Polk's from crutchfield and it made all the difference in the world. The stock speakers are junk. Might go ahead and add dynamat material when you are in there. That seemed to really help also.

I think the Mega's have smaller rear speakers. You can use 6x9 or 6.5" in the front and 5.25" in the rear. You need mounting adapter plates though (Crutchfield has them).

my qc had the 5.25" as well. if you can make a bigger speaker work in the rear, absolutely do it.
