WHAT RIMS TO FIT OUR RAM 3500's
I read here all the time about putting Hummer rims on our Rams. So I can assume that GM product wheels will fit. But are they referring to HD wheels with 8 lugs ??? or light duty rims. I need to find a single steel wheel, 18"x8" to use for a spare. I don't think that GM makes a steel wheel 18" to use. I also think that Ford does, so will the wheel from Ford fit our 8 lug pattern ????
Thanks all, Merry Christmas

Hey James, Thanks for that . I wasn't sure but was sort of hoping that Ford would fit. I was looking around and couldn't seem to locate a source for Dodge steel rims in 18". If you could direct me to a source I agree that that would be the wise choice.
Thanks, Merry Christmas

OK Guys. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It has been my belief that Dodge did not make the 18" steel wheels. So therefore I was looking elsewhere. That is the only reason I brought up Ford wheels. So, if I am wrong and Dodge does ( or did ) make the steel wheel in 18" my problem is solved and I can look in that direction and track down a single wheel design wheel from a scrap yard.
I hope this is the case. It would make my search much easier. I will begin to look in that direction until I find out otherwise.
Thanks all, Merry Christmas

Try e-bay - 18" with the 8x6.5 bolt pattern, just need to know the rim width.
I don't think Dodge ever put an 18" rim on any of their trucks?? Ford might have, it would have been after the 92 year model if they did, prior to that there rims were 16". GM was right in those years about the same as Ford.
Could have been an aftermarket steel wheel, or an earlier 450/4500 something.

I believe Ford started using 18" in 2000 as an option I do know that at least 05 and newer are all 18" and 8x170mm, my 97 F350 had 16" 8x6.5
The older Ford lug pattern (pre 1999 or so) is identical to Dodge and Chevy 8x6.5 but a 16" wheel will not clear the brakes on a 3rd gen Dodge, dont think a 16.5" will either
