Well I did it, goodbuy Ford
I traded off my F-350.
I have my new 2003 Quadcab 3500 DRW SLT 6spd HO Cummins. The exhaust brake is on order.
I have driven three different Fords Super Duty's over the years. I can't wait to see what it is like pulling my fifth wheel RV.
Oh I forgot I need to buy a hitch for it, never new that could seem so @#$% complicated, to drill or not to drill that is the question.
Randy
You are going to love it. Just picked mine up last night - - same specs. The power for stock is awesome. Shifter is a little tight, but only missed sixth one time. The ride is so much nicer than Ford, and blessed quietness. It is really smooth. I can't wait to hook up. The more I drive it, the more I like it.
Several of us are fighting this hitch thing. Waiting for some good answers back. I have a little more time I can wait before having to jump on something. In the meantime, just drive and enjoy.
Keep your britches on while you wait. Don't get all silly like a little kid like some others I could name on this forum.

ps: do I re-read your post to say you all ready have your truck???
Whatever, welcome to the world of Dodge.

Yes, I picked up the truck Friday night. It is my first DRW truck. It sure does look wide from behind when you walk up to it. I think I finally have plenty of truck to pull my RV.
Randy
Randy,

I am really anxious to try my fiver behind it. I push over 16000 pounds if I am not careful on the liquids. My opinion of the HO with the six speed driving solo is that it will eat it for lunch. The ratios in the tranny are excellent. I had read about the brake size, but I was not ready for the what I saw when I crawled around under the truck today. Those brake systems look more like my 2 ton dump. And the power if you touch the pedal a little too much is quite amazing for a stock truck.

I think we will be happy - - - if someone would just figure out this hitch situation.

Bob

Dave,

I dealt with Sunset Dodge in Sarasota. 941-922-2400. Ask for Kirt Bopp. Good people. I think they had a 2500 in stock when I left Saturday. Very fair.

Bob
