Weighed Truck this morning
I've been wondering how much my truck weighs, so when I got off work this morning I talked to the guy that weighs all the semis that come in. He told me when the trucks clear to pull on the scales. With the winch and all the junk in my tool box and 1/2 tank of fuel it weighed 7,480 lbs. The beauty is I still get 19+ mpg when I drive right.

I weighed in at 7700# including a FW hitch, full tank, and ~450# of people.
With the 1400# of FW pin over the drive I balanced at 4500# steer 4600#drive iirc

I have tried to use the scale at the drag strip a couple of times. Too heavy 6000lb limit. So we weighed front and rear axle. They used some kind of magic formula to come up with 7390lbs with me (165lb) in it, so 7225lbs.
Last week I decided to find out for sure. Took everything out except small cab tool box. About 1/8 tank diesel. Weighed 7020lbs without me in it on the public scales used by the truckers. I really thought it weighed a little more.

Our work scales can only weigh the whole truck, no steer or drive weights. I went in to watch him weigh it so I was not in it either. Boy these things are heavy.

went to the landscaping bulk yard with my '04.5, Quad Cab LB, 2500 4x4, weighed in at approx. 7600 lbs with 3/4 tank of fuel and one passenger.
Got 4000 lbs of rock and went home... twice in one day.
I find it's interesting these things weigh almost 4-tons empty.

I used to have an 04.5 2500 QC shortbed 4X4 cummins that weighed 6900 lbs empty with about 1/2 tank of fuel. This was on the local farmer's market scale, which is probably reasonably accurate because it's generally used to weigh things in the range of what our trucks weigh, not 80,000 lb semis. A few weeks later, I had my current truck on there. It's an 04.5 3500 QC 4X4 dually, and it registered 7620. This was with a subwoofer box under the back seat that probably weighs 75 or 80 lbs, a spare tire off my '69 chrysler 300, and about 3/4 tank of fuel. I think at least 7500 with NO cargo and a full tank is a reasonable estimate.
Both of these figures are with nobody in the truck.

Mine with me and my mom at the county dump on the scales read 7700lbs with full tank. I was suprised, I didn't know they weighed that much. Gives me a better appreciation for the power of these Cummins motors.

Well I guess i will add mine too....
With ME, a FULL tank of Fuel, and a Fiver Hitch.......i weighed in at 7760 lbs. according to certified CAT scales.
Specifically, it was 4560 on the front and 3200 even on the rear axle.
That Cummins block has some mass to it huh!
