If you are getting that kind of mileage with it, GM might buy it back because it's a freak! My cousin has one and it won't get 14mpg with a 100mph tail wind. GM might want to put yours in a museum. If it is better than a diesel, why would you want to get rid of it anyway?
Just wondering

Guess im not the only one that is noticing that it is a freak. BTW How long have you had the Yukon? How many miles are on it again? Also, what did it say on the sticker/invoice when you bought it? If it comes up that it was on there you have no case what so ever. GL though

on an assembly line the axles are already built, they just install them so yes I know the ring and pinion are installed right in the axles. I just dont understand how those axles made there way into the wrong vehicle. I know I'm being one sided about it, but what if it happened to one of you guys?

Both the build sheet and window sticker say 3.42's.

As for milage, I did the simple stuff. Intake, exhaust, and custom tuning. The custom tuning gets the biggest mpg gains. There is a few things to change but mostly its as easy as adding timing and pulling some fuel away. I add 12* timing below 2500rpms which gets it down the road alot easier with less throttle. Above 2500rpms I add 10* just for more power. Changing the fuel trims isnt as easy, but once you get your trims back to -0- your set.

One big overlook on gassers is adding a free flowing intake and exhaust does add power but it also makes it run richer. Getting the fuel trims back to -0- from that point is important to make even more power and get better economy.

Ya know, If they would have messed up and gave me an LQ9 6.0 motor instead I dont think it would be a big deal. Crazy how that works. The 3.73's arent that bad I guess. They tow great and get great milage thats for sure. I'll talk to them and see what my options are. I'd rather keep the 3.73's than have them messing around in my axles. I suppose I could just pay the Yukon off this year and give it to the wife, by then the 07' Cummins should be out.

Your not the first one I have heard of to get the wrong gears, a buddy over on another forum got 4.10's in his denali, the widow sticker says 3.73, and the dealer told him to screw himself.

Well if the dealer tried telling me that this thing would get sour real quick. Then I would be demanding a new ride and talking directly to GM about the screwed up dealer. I have a short fuse for getting dicked around.

Thats just wrong, but funny.

No need to compensate here. And as long as the wife believes that I'm alright.
