Trailer Power Converter keeps running lights on!!!!
I just finished wiring in a trailer power converter and attempted to wire it into the factor seven pin the power converter has a four pin pig tail that I spliced into the factor harness so it would transfer the basic functions for lights to the seven pin and replaced the four pin with the new one as the one that was there was pretty corroded. Now my parking lights stay on even when the switches and ignition are all off I had to disconnect it from the battery in order for them to shut off. The Power converter has input for brake, tail light, right and left turn and of course the power cable from the battery. I was wondering if the turn signals are 2 channel or 3 channel? this might help in diagnosing what is wrong, I double and triple checked everything to make sure I was wiring into the right wires from the tail lights and I am sure that I got those right because I tested all the turn signals and they worked fine I just need to find out what I did wrong that keeps the lights on. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

That may not be the problem, it was just a quick thought. Either way, you need to go back and ensure that you have the wiring correct. If you bypass the converter, the problem goes away, right?

well if I bypass the converter I won't have turn signals/brake lights on the right side. I'm not sure what to do to get it right. I followed the directions that came with the converter which I will admit were very vague it was a 6 step process that spanned 3 days and now im stuck with a jacked up setup and I looked at another post that involved a modulite which is a different but identical setup as the one I have.

I know I made no sense at the end of my last post as different I meant brand but Identically functional. I now need to pull it all off and put back the way it was before and try it over again.

You are going to need ground as well.
Typical converters bring in:
Ground
Brake light
Left turn light
Right turn light
Tail or marker light
+12V power (optional, some converters draw power from the lights)
The four wire output has:
Combination Left turn/brake light
Combination Right turn/brake light
Tail /marker Marker light
Ground
Keep in mind when looking at the 7 pin connector that 'brake' is not for brake lights, it is for the electric trailer brakes.
You are going to need ground as well.

Right I forgot to mention the Ground wire which I have grounded solidly on the crossmember in the rear on the frame, I just can't figure out how it is making the trailer lights stay on I think I may have spliced into the wire wrong and it is reversing power back up through the harness. I am going to have to tear it apart and repair wires back to the way they were and start from scratch again and determine what I did wrong.
