Towing Capacity Question

I am considering a 3rd gen diesel because I want the full four doors. I am thinking short bed 4WD.
Can anyone givce me the towing capacity for both the single axle and dually?
Also any other information on reliabilty would be great. I currently own a 97 dodge cummins but it bogs down under load (9000-9500 goose neck) and a little unstable in the rear end.
Thanks in advance

What was the other truck? 2500/3500? The new truck have some pretty heavy ratings if properly equiped.

Any of the 3rd Gen SRW SB or LB will do the trick. The difference between the 2500 & 3500 is the payload, the 3500 willl usually carry about 1500-2000# more in the bed do to the extra leaf springs.
Ppersonally the 3500 is the better way to go and if yo really want to haul heavy then go with the dually.

scroll down to bottom of the page here: http://www.klenger.net/dodge/3rd-gen...ram-towing.pdf ... has all the models you're interested in.... remember the QC SB SRW CTD truck loaded with you and fuel can weigh up to 7500 lbs without passangers and luggage.

Best to purchase the truck with the greatest (stock) GVWR if you tow Goose, since DOT cares not if you have helper springs, only what's printed on the inside of your door... go with 3500 series if you tow.

Haulmark built my gooseneck enclosed trailer with a tapered front ($400 option) giving a greater turning angle in my SB Ram B&W now makes a gooseneck extender for even more angle.
