Tow Hooks - Front Bumper

I don't have tow hooks on the front and the truck is stuck in the mud! Dang it, I should have spent the extra money and gotten a 4x4.

Anyways what does everyone have?
Can you post pics of hooks or rings on the front bumper.

I was thinking of welding on some rings, surely I can get this done for less than the factory set of hook.

They need to be attached to the frame other wise you could rip your bumper right off.

The factory towhook kit comes with the reinforcement brackets that bolt behind the bumper, the tow hooks, and all of the hardware. Don't let someone sell you just the towhooks. Without the reinforcement brackets, the tow hooks are useless.

I have the brackets, I guess the first owner took them off.
So I was thinking I could by some tow rings and have them welded onto a plate that would bolt into the frame, good idea or bad idea?

On my 2000 dodge I didn't have tow hooks. Let me just say I ended up ripping the frame from the chain hook and it was nice enough to hook my bumper on the way out and tear that off with my grill guard. Buy the factory hooks and use both of them when you get stuck with a trailer and hook a 400 hp four wheel drive tractor to the front.

Another alternative is bolt on receiver hitches available for that year. They bolt onto the frame. You can purchase a Warn clevis to plug in to the receiver.
