Tow Hooks

How difficult is it to add factory tow hooks to a truck that does not have them? Are the factory tow hooks good or are there some better aftermarket ones out there?

About an hour , don't be afraid to wire wheel the loctite off of the bolts in the kit and put some fresh stuff on there. That keeps the fastener moving insted off getting wadded up and causing a cuss fest and another person to help. Why in the world would the factory put loctite on and let it dry out for this application is beyond me !

Friend of mine is interested in adding these to his 04. I assume that you buy them from the dealer. How much do they run?

When I removed the hooks from my truck I stopped by the Dodge garage to see what they were worth, they want $115 for them.

You can also find sets on eBay, I saw a set there this morning.

I've heard else where that when installing stock tow hooks on Rams that didn't come with them you need to also get the mounting bracketry as well; Is this true? I too am among the many Dodge owners that got a truck without the tow hooks and would really like to install a set on my rig.

When installing front tow hooks you will need the extra bracketry.
