Is this tire a disaster waiting to happen?
2003 dually with about 63000 miles on stock Goodyears. Take a look at these pics and let me know what you think. I need new tires, but in the mean time are these going to let go? Thanks, John.

I just took mine down to get a new set of Michelin XPS Ribs today because the original tires (truck delivered 8/15/01) showed sidewall cracking, but not as bad as yours.

Is there much tread left on them? A Goodyear dealer will pro-rate them, meaning you pay for the amount of tread you've used. The only problem with that is they use list price. Even though they may sell for less, they use full price. This sometimes is not worth it.

I second that...that one crack is DEEP and even though you can't quite see the radial, sidewalls are the weak point of a tire and that could blow out the side at any given deep pothole you accidentally hit with her...I'd change ASAP.

Like you said, you need new tires. You may get by for a while, but you MAY have a blowout. You had a good run, 63K. Personally, if I could, I would get new tires Monday if I were in your shoes. Good luck picking out your replacements.
