I don't believe this but my truck came with a clear rear window.
Boy that looks sharp with just the rear side windows tinted

So I went down and talked to my salesman about it. He said no problem, take it in and have it tinted and bring me the bill. So I did, looks really good now.

I also had them put 4 inches of tint on top of the windshield, I love it, it really cuts down on the glare with these huge windshields.....

Should have your front side windows done also. Keeps the UV and prying eyes out.

You have have a nice dealer to have covered the cost. This has been an issue for many owners. Some have the tint, some dont. I ordered my 2004.5 with rear defroster and it came with tint.

If the rear doors came with sunscreen glass, shouldn't the back glass automatically be sunscreen, whether it's fixed, slider, or heated ? My fixed glass was sunscreen, along with the rear doors.

Thats what I thought. I ordered the fixed glass also.

My salesman and I went out and looked at a few other trucks on the lot and the sliders and defrosted ones were all tinted and the all the fixed ones were clear. He couldn't figure it out either........

Yah I thought that it was great that he took care of the tinting for me

I been dealing with him for years so he takes pretty good care of me.

Mine came tinted, but it's a slider. I got 5% tint ON TOP of the already tinted windows. It is BLACK. Looks great.
Before I had it done, the baby couldn't look through the windows w/o the sun blinding him, now you can look right at the sun and it's not that bright. No need to use the auto dimming mirros anymore, either.

Clear fixed rear window is stock on all.

Except laramie, where you have either slider with tint or rear defroster tinted.

My '03 SLT had sunscreen glass in rear doors & fixed rear window...no extra charges on the window sticker. Must have been part of the SLT package.

I have a ST package and have tinted glass on rear doors and did have fixed back window. Sales man knew that I wanted to change to a slider and he made the dealership pay for the upgrade. Real nice guy!

My 03 had the rear tinted window but not the 04.5

The rear window comes tinted only if you get the slider or rear defrost options. If you do not go for either of these two options the fixed window comes UNTINTED regardless if your other windows are tinted. The Laramie package has the rear tinted because it includes either the slider or the defroster.

I guess I'm a little different from most. I cancelled my order for a rear slider because it only comes tinted. On Monday, with my 5 day old truck, I had the fixed window cut out (and trashed) and installed a new after market CLEAR slider. I want to be able to see out the back thru a camper shell with tinted windows and have access to the shell from the cab. It costs double what a slider costs from the factory. I wish they would let us order what we want.
