agree with checking the steering box. also check the upper and lower control arms for slop.
also remember, in any older vehicle with every worn part there will be play. so if you have a 1/16" play here and 1/8" there and some more else where, it adds up. Just saying. I think in need to give infidel credit for bringing that to my attention.
