OK. Finally pulled the trigger. Sold the 97 and got an 03 Laraime 3500 2wd. The one in sig. i bought it right, and had to put injectors in it. This truck is almost mint, even with 228,000 miles on it.
It never had a Gooseneck hitch in it, so I put a B&W in it and a Line-X liner. Iphone ipod adaptor, Weathertech floormats, etc and a smarty JR, A glacier diesel Big Line Kit and 2Mic filter. Gauges on their way. Pretty happy with it.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Only thing i regret is not getting 4wd. Next one will.

I love this thread. Looks like my 03 value is rock solid. I'll probably sell it someday before it has 150K on it.

I really like my 07. There is a lot I'm working on doing to it but it is a lot of fun to drive.

I like my '06 w/ the 5.9L better than the '07.5 w/ the 6.7L that I use to own. MUCH better fuel miles!

I don't see the '05 getting any love in here.........I have 150K miles, I've had the A/c issues (electric fan fixed that), #3 injector ( water in diesel ), nothing else besides routine maintenance..... Guess I'm lucky

06+ vehicles with CANBUS have better options for electronics (both aftermaket and later model OEM stuff like myGig etc). Having to delete emissions equipment on a 6.7 just to make it run correctly is a major PITA with the smog requirements.

I made the same mistake, bought a 2007 with the 5.9 but it was 2wd. One trip up the mountain in the early spring with the wife to go shoot was a mistake. There was barely any snow showing mainly slushy dirt, but it could not handle it. Backed down the tight road about a mile until I could turn around and wife was freaking out, sold it the next weekend. Plus it was a stripped down model, power nothing. I love the 06 I have except the seats are a pain to keep clean. My buddy has an 04 and it is nice, but I like my 06 a little better.

After 8 years and 100k miles I can say my '03 was great over-all. I mean, the 4speed auto kinda' sucked, but if Dodge had made the crew cab back then, I'd still be driving it. The lack of rear-leg room in the quad cab was the only reason I sent it down the road.

I sure like my 2011 though, now that I have it. Maybe it's better to not known what you're missing.

I love my 08 Mega. Full deletes. Even enjoyed it prior to deleting. Bought it with 22,000 miles on it dec of '11, i'm up to 55,000 now. Been deleted for well over a year with no problems.
