Tailgate straps
Does anyone know how sturdy the tailgate straps are? I want to try and load my Rhino into my bed but it weighs around 1225 plus me when I'm putting it in there.

I'm not sure of the weight rating for the tailgate, but I load my 4 wheeler in the pickup bed on occasion total weight of man and machine appx 900 lbs.
You sure that Rhino will fit in a shortbed?

Is your rhino too long to fit without the tailgate? If not, just pull the gate off. Disconnect the straps, raise (or lower) the gate to approx. 45 degrees, and the pass. side should pull out. Then pull the gate off the driver's side hinge. Use a helper if you have on, because it's kinda bulky.
I have reseted the rear of a Harley ST on it with 2 grown men, but I was kind of worried.

Thanks for the replies all. I got my fearless friend to drive it into the back for me and it did it just fine with the front tires resting on the tailgate. I had to pull the pins from the Rhino bed and set it on top of the engine so it would fit. And by the way, it's the ferocious and feared Green Rhino!

I want to say they are rated at 500 lbs apiece but don't have anything to back it up. Rating and safety factor are two different things, kind of like tie down straps, rated at 1500 lbs and load rating is 500 lbs. Most tie down straps I have seen have a working or load rating of 1/3 that of the weight rating.
