Strange Instrument Behavior
My "new" to me 2004 2500 has done something strange a couple of times lately.
While driving down the road, the tach and speedo, and fuel guage all just go to zero, a chime sounds, then they come back up and everything is back to normal.
No performance issues that I could feel, just the double take on the instrument panel.
Anybody seen this before?

Check and replace your temperature sending unit. When it fails it tells the computer that our truck is off. Actually quite common but it will make your brain melt trying to find it.
P.S.This tip brought to you by Pind - Yes I learned it from him!

My truck just did the same thing . Where is the temp. sending unit ? Can you get one somewhere other than the ******* . This did not throw a code , so a warranty repair is impossible .

Question for the moderator : Why the edit on my post . I did not use bad language or name a certain dealership . When they try to charge a customer over $ 50 for a fuel filter , and the same filter can be purchased from Cummins for $17 , I think my comment is justified .
