Sterling trucks???

So, I was at the pump yesterday and a dealer pulls in to top of the tank on a brand new Sterling. I noticed something different with the front suspension, the control arms looked to be built out of square tubing instead of the welded stamped C channels like my truck has, they looked much longer as well. The joints also looked much beefier. Anyone know what the deal is with these, is it because it was a heavier duty commercial truck?

HD rated truck, bigger front & rear axles. Just a Dodge HD with a different name tag, unloaded ,rides not that great.

The sterlings are 4500s and 5500s so they're going to be heavier built.

Ok, next question.... Has anyone ever tried fitting the heavier control arms from a sterling onto a 2500 or 3500? Or would it just be easier to get some from Thuren or Carli?

I wish I could see a pic of said control arms, are you sure they were stock and not an aftermarket?

Anyway, if control arms are your thing as they are with me look at Carlis or Thuren because these arms have real articlating and pivoting joints at each end, used in severe off road conditions.

Carlis have been used in severe off road racing (Baja 1000) and the only control arms I know of that have been.

Stock will suck big time when you compare them.
