Sterling/Dodge 4500

Probably old news to most, but I just stumbled across this listing on truckpaper..

http://www.truckpaper.com/listings/forsale/list.asp?bcatid=27&catid=857&ParentCategoryID=208& man=STERLING&guid=8A06B1A900334962B5771B9CD26A8754

I knew (or read) Sterling was making the 4500/5500 frames, but did not know Sterling was going to "re-grill" a Dodge... not a bad set up...

Yeah, I wonder also how they will price against a Dodge badged version since all I can really see different in this ad is the grill.. might give them a call next time I am in TX and take a look at one...

Frieghtliner in Bryan, Texas has one on the lot also... they told me it was going to be listed around $40K
Nice truck... 6 speed auto >> 19.5 wheels
But I think I can get a Dodge branded truck cheaper....

Those will not sell that well if they are priced way over the Dodges. Why in the heck would you buy a Sterlin BULLET for 10k over what you can get the Dodge when they are the same truck???????

"Interest in the Bullet has been high," said Matt Stevenson, director of light commercial vehicles for Sterling Truck Corporation. "In fact, we've filled our production on the Bullet for the rest of 2007. We're excited for our customers to start putting them to work."

From the prices that I have seen for the 4500 and 5500s that are going to be the Dodge dealership in Bryan,Tx that i work at is around that same 40K mark. So it might end up one of those 6 one way and half a dozen other type of deals. Who knows, I hope we get our 4500 and 5500s in soon, I want to play with one really bad.

A friend of mine was getting ready to buy a new ford F-450 until I showed him the bullet. He looked at it and priced them out and it was $6,000.00 cheaper than the ford equipped equally. Let me say he is now getting ready to take delivery on a sterling. Funny thing is he is very loyal to the blue oval but not for long.

It was Ferd until Ferd sold the Medium and Heavy truck division to Daimler-Chrysler. Daimler-Chrysler then changed the name back to Sterling.
