stereo install, sirius antenna question?
Im installing a new HU and sirius tuner today. I can just brake the plastic thing around the sirius antenna plug and reuse it for the new tuner right? it wont fit with the molded piece around it.
EDIT: I figured it out. On my 07, pop the red cap off the top of the factory plug, and then there is a tab that locks the plastic thing onto the antenna plug. Pry the tab back and out comes the antenna plug.

So did you basically pop off the plug off your aftermarket antenna and pop it onto the OEM antenna so you could use the OEM antenna on your aftermarket head unit?
I've got an aftermarket XM antenna sitting on my dash that gets horrible reception. My truck has the OEM antenna on the roof, but hadn't figured out (or tried too hard) how to use the OEM antenna on the aftermarket head unit.
