Steering wobble after stabilizer install

After installing my skyjacker 2.5 lift I decided to install a steering stabilizer since I will be adding some 35's soon. A couple times on the highway I have hit a pot hole and the front end seems to wobble and shack bad for a second till I slow down. I have re-checked everything in the front end and it is all tight and no problems that I can tell of. Is this because I am still running the stock tires? Not sure what else to think.
thanks

Sounds like you have the dreaded death wobble. Do a search and you will find all sorts of DW stories. Probably more to do with overall front end condition than new stabilizer. A 2.5in lift probably doesn't have a trackbar relocation bracket, but i would re-check your track bar bushings/ mounting bolts and also ball joints. People with some load range D BFG tires reported DW going away when changing them out but if your running factory load range E probably not the tires. Good luck!!

That's the first time I've heard of a "new" steering stabilizer triggering it.

I didn't know what else would cause it, because it never did it before I put the lift on. I did not realize it was such a big issue with some trucks. Gonna try putting the bd box stabilizer on to start and go from there.
thanks

Have you had it aligned after you installed the lift. If not I would guess that something is a little off, or the lift is magnifying something on the front steering/suspension that is a little loose that you didn't notice before the lift.

That's a good point. After the first time it does it, your alignment is shot anyway. And if you don't correct the parts causing the problem before re-alignment and it does again, guess what? Back to square one.

I was going to get an alignment after the lift, but figured I should do it after I install my new wheels and tires. I will be installing a set of 325/60/20 hankook dynapro's in a couple weeks and an alignment will be one of the first things I do.
Thanks
