I read this somewhere on this site, so don't flame me... I read that you had to replace the clock spring as well when replacing the steering wheel. something to consider.

Yes it is leather and I got it at the local dealer. You may have to take the steering column covers off to gain access to the screws (can't remember for sure).

I'm installing my own leather cover on my '06 as we speak (I do leatherwork; got material laying around). The leather in that top section is all slicked and no grip to speak of so it's getting covered.
ScotS, hopefully the swap on yours goes well. I wasn't feeling anywhere near up to par about changing the entire wheel. Much cheaper and easier to lay a fresh strap of leather.
